'Requests for assistance in response to the Taiwan earthquake'

This year has seen many earthquakes, starting with the Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year's Day, and there may be more areas in Japan in need of reconstruction assistance in the future.

Against this backdrop, our neighbouring country, Taiwan, was hit by a major earthquake on 3 April, causing extensive damage.

Taiwan is a neighbouring country with which our country has friendly relations and has provided tremendous support in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and the Noto Peninsula Earthquake this year.

I myself have employed several Taiwanese staff, who have helped me enormously both publicly and privately.

We will donate the entire participation fee for this event to the Taiwan Earthquake, although we know it will not be much help considering the amount of damage.

We would like to ask all participants to extend a helping hand towards Taiwan's recovery to the extent possible.
